Adding to the Dead

  • Having found a sign of The Heavy Hand and not yet knowing what it was, the Party decided to drop by The Mayor’s House and let Karrus Irondome, the day’s Mayor, what was going on.
  • After notifying the Mayor, they took the pendant to The Wooded Temple to see if Elder Starlight could tell them anything about it, as it might be a religious or spiritual icon.
  • Elder Starlight could not tie it to any specific religion or god, and confirmed it was non-magical, offering further help if she could provide it.
  • The Party went back north to pick up the trail, and followed it almost until sunset.
  • Marlowe managed to find a Moonbeam Plant to provide light so the Party could continue tracking at night.
  • Following the tracks to the Cemetery, they spoke to the Bowes about what might have been happening nearby today, and particularly if there was anyone suspicious.
  • After confirming that, the Party headed deeper into the cemetery to search, and found a number of bandits trying to break into a group of mausoleums.
  • The bandits tried to scare off McKeag, and after threatening and attacking him, a fight fully broke out.
  • Lincoln stabbed someone, and Marlowe and Korwin both killed people for the first time.
  • The remaining bandits (and their hunting dog) fled, and after Korwin’s first rage subsided, he became extremely distressed at what he’d done and fled into the night.
  • Marlowe performed first aid, managing to save two of the bandits lives and restraining them, and McKeag had Lincoln bring them to The Bridge Watchhouse on Mosshoof.
  • Marlowe and McKeag went after Korwin, and began comforting him, eventually managing to bring him back to Waterwheel proper.
  • Lincoln turned the bandits in and gave a brief report, which McKeag elaborated on later.
  • The Party met up one last time for the evening before going their separate ways.
  • McKeag sought guidance from Molthar the Chartusk about involving young innocents, Marlowe got Korwin home and gave his family a brief update, Lincoln went home and had a crisis about a premonition of his own death, and Marlowe swore to hunt the remaining bandits.
