Album Thoughts
Picked this one up at an antiques mall, and what a weird find there. Vibes alone made me grab it.
Song Notes
Vapor Transmission (intro)
- It’s atmospheric, but there’s not a whole lot going on here other than vibes.
Suckerface
- The start of this song wouldn’t sound out of place in 2000s DOOM.
- I cannot get over how Y2K this sounds.
The Odyssey
- This makes me want to go to a warehouse club in 1999 and thrash around, which is especially impressive given that I am not one for the club scene.
Opticon
- The heavy drums and super distorted guitar keep appearing, and that’s gonna be a theme throughout this whole thing.
Fiction (Dreams in Digital)
- The groove that the bass is doing here hits really nicely. It’s a strong vibe.
Eva
- Oooooh, the bass and guitar sound in this one are super good.

- This one feels especially videogame-y for some reason.
- It’s doing some real fun stuff with the industrial rock sound in this one.
Dramatica
- As much as I’m enjoying listening, these are really starting to show their samey-ness.
Eyes-Radio-Lies
- I feel like the industrial sound in this one is more well-defined and executed.
- I also like the way things drop out at the end. It comes full circle really nicely.
Saving Faces
- I’m not having many more thoughts, though it’s making excellent music to work to.
Chasing Sirens
- This is much more forward, and like it! It feels like it shakes things up a bit!
Where’s Gerrold / The Spectrum
- So far this is the most musically interesting.
- There are some chord progressions that flow unexpectedly and some fun use of dissonance.
- I’m also a fan the silent break and the return to a ‘new’ song.
General Thoughts
- Holy fuck, this is an album made for 90’s-2000’s vampires to writhe to in a club.
- Even the track titles feel of-the-time.
- It’s all music that would feel even better coming out of some piece-of-shit speakers from 1995 while surfing the web at 3:00AM or something.
- The vibe is so strong for each of these, I feel like I can see the de-saturated, industrial music videos shot at odd angles with odd lenses.
- I should listen to this late at night in the dark while cruising some indieweb sites or something, that’d hit the vibe.
