My wife’s computer has an Intel 7265 Network Controller.

She’s using Linux Mint, and it has issues with that particular network controller, for whatever reason. After a short time, it will completely fail to detect any network devices. No amount of configuration changes, restarting the wireless in as many different ways and as many different levels as I can find will cause it to work again. Only restarting the computer works.

I haven’t been able to find a solution to fix it, and I tried a bunch of stuff.

This is the most useful page I’ve seen so far. It details many of Intel’s wireless devices, and specifically has information on a buuuuuunch of Linux wireless drivers.

Git repo with firmware

Need [file]-17.ucode, unless device really is 7265D, in which case it needs [file]-29.ucode.

Finding the Wireless Card version

Check dmesg output for “Detected Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 7265, REV=0x210

I think just getting a USB wireless device is the solution.

USE THIS AS INFO, IT'S CRAZY GOOD. It's a very comprehensive list of devices and their compatibility.
