This is another album I picked at random at the library.

Song Notes

  • “Tiny Town” - A song about xenophobia and racism. Fast, clean, hardcore punk.
  • “Plum Dumb” - Are the plums drugs? Seems likely.
  • “Swordfish” - This is a strong entry to me. Beach rock vibes, discordant piano and shuffling sound is strange, much like the lyrics.
  • Big Lizard - Maybe my favorite track.

General Thoughts

  • There’s a lot of short songs on this one.
  • Lot of humorous songs about hating or making fun of stuff.
  • The shout/half-singing is definitely amusing.
  • This isn’t feeding something inside me, but I am enjoying the listening experience.
  • This feels like the B-52s, but less campy and more vulgar
  • They’re certainly playful, musically
  • After the first several songs, this proved to be less objectionable than I feared, given some of what they sing about.
  • And then there’s tracks 15 and 19… That’s 1985 for ya.
